CN Logistics Vigorously Promotes Sustainable Development

Green Logistics Solutions as a Case Study for International Academia

[Hong Kong – 29th June 2022] A well-established international logistics solutions provider, CN Logistics International Holdings Limited (the “Company”, together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”, stock code: 2130), has always attached great importance to sustainable development and committed to incorporate the energy conversation and environmental considerations into all aspects of our daily operations. Therefore, we have launched the one-stop green logistics solutions in Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China last year, to work with our brand customers to enhance the resource management, and to provide various value-added services around carbon emission consulting, carbon footprint tracking, and neutralisation to promote a cleaner supply chain. We hope to satisfy our customers’ demand for sustainable development and contribute to the transition towards a green logistics industry simultaneously, leveraging our influence.

Recently, the Group was honoured to support the joint study conducted by Dr. Wong Yiu Man of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (Logistics and Transportation Division) and his team (the “Research Team”), including Dr. Mak Shu Lun, Assistant Professor of the Department of Construction and Quality Management of the Hong Kong Metropolitan University, and Professor Ho Kin Chung, Honorary Professor of the Department of Geography of the University of Hong Kong, on green solutions for the logistics and transportation industry. Our one-stop green logistics services have been selected as one of the case studies. The Research Team will participate and present their research results to the international academics at the 2022 3rd International Conference on Green Energy, Environment, and Sustainable Development in Beijing on June 29 and 30.

Receiving such a recognition from the academia is another endorsement of our effort on advocating sustainability, following our earlier certifications by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the international greenhouse gas emissions standard (ISO 14064-3), and the Bronze certification by EcoVadis, an international rating platform on business sustainability. Looking ahead, the Group will pursue energy-saving and emission reduction on various fronts. Apart from the introduction of new electric vehicles in Hong Kong, the Group will continue to promote green transportation by expanding its electric fleets in Hong Kong and the Mainland. The Group also plans to install solar panels and rainwater collection systems in suitable overseas warehouses. Combined with the existing green logistics services, the Group expects to reduce carbon emissions by more than 6,000 tons this year and achieve a 30% increase in waste disposal capacity to further react to the growing demand for sustainable development.

Mr. Ngan Tim Wing, Executive Director and CEO of CN Logistics commented, “Since a few years ago, we have been aware of the growing concern of sustainability among our brand customers and the society, so the Group has been one of the pioneers in the industry to develop green logistics services and drive for a low-carbon transformation. We are very pleased to be introduced as a reference case to the global academic community for their study on the sustainable development of logistics industry in Hong Kong, and to showcase our concept and practice of sustainability to the local community. We will continue to stimulate different sustainable development projects to save energy and reduce emissions in our daily operations, and at the same time, contribute to the next generation in line with the Hong Kong Government’s development blueprint to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.”
