OBO Head Florante Catalan said that upon inspection, they discovered that signage from the 31st floor fell on a house in Sitio Greenside, Barangay Hipodromo.
Catalan said their office has asked Monocrete Construction Philippines Inc., the contractor, to install safety nets and catchers as well as for an incident report to settle the complaint.
The OBO said the contractor needs to focus on implementing safety measures before it can resume construction.
Hipodromo Barangay Captain Dondon Bacolod had said that 28 houses were affected.
However, he said Monocrete had already paid for the damage.
He said families whose houses were severely damaged received P15,000 each, while those whose houses incurred minor damage received a smaller amount.
Bacolod said the construction site was getting ready for the effects of typhoon Egay when one of the cranes was left unchecked. Strong winds caused it to move, dislodging materials that resulted in falling debris.
According to Jun Salomon, one of the homeowners, objects from the construction fell and almost hit his children Monday night, July 24.
