10,600 kids aged 5-11 now fully vaxxed vs Covid-19

OVER 10,600 children aged five to 11 years old have so far been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Metro Cebu, a month after the start of the rollout for this age group.Data from the Visayas Vaccination Operations Center showed that 10,606 children belonging to this age group had been vaccinated in nine local government units in Metro Cebu as of March 15, 2022.This is just 3.33 percent from the 318,732 population of five to 11 years old in Metro Cebu.About 30,073 children (9.44 percent) have been vaccinated for the first dose. Of the number, Cebu City has so far the biggest number of fully vaccinated children with 2,194, although this is just 1.54 percent from its 142,834 population of the five-to-11 age group.Mandaue City came second with 2,133 fully vaccinated children or 13.06 percent of its 16,329 projected population.Lapu-Lapu City has been able to fully vaccinate 1,300 or 2.99 percent from the 63,173 projected population of five to 11.The cities of Lapu-Lapu and Talisay have vaccinated 4,749 and 2,590 children for the first dose or 7.52 percent and 17.27 percent, respectively.The component cities of Talisay and Naga, on the other hand, have fully vaccinated 1,300 children (8.67 percent) and 837 (6.02 percent), respectively.Talisay City has an eligible population of 15,000 children aged five to 11 years old while the City of Naga has 13,900 children under the same age group.The towns of Minglanilla and Consolacion also have 821 and 889 fully vaccinated children or 4.01 percent and 4.68 percent of their 20,454 and 18,977 five-to-11 age group, respectively.The towns of Cordova and Liloan have so far fully vaccinated 293 (2.17 percent of 13,485) and 253 children (1.73 percent of 14,850).As to the number of children aged five to 11 who have been vaccinated for the first dose, Cebu City led with 8,094 or 5.81 percent of its projected population followed by Mandaue City with 4,910 (30.07 percent).The cities of Lapu-Lapu and Talisay have also vaccinated 4,749 (7.52 percent) and 2,590 children for the first dose (17.27 percent), respectively.The City of Naga and Minglanilla, on the other hand, have vaccinated 2,040 for the first dose (14.68 percent) and 3,113 (15.22 percent), respectively.Consolacion and Cordova have also vaccinated 2,149 (11.32 percent) and 1,165 (8.64 percent).The town of Liloan was already at 7.29 percent after it has vaccinated 1,063 children aged five to 11.The vaccination rollout for five to 11 years old started last Feb. 14 in some LGUs in Metro Cebu.Meanwhile, data from the VVOC also showed that about 189,849 children aged 12 to 17 years old in Metro Cebu have also been fully vaccinated. This is 56.03 percent of 338,840 target population. As of March 15, at least 215,800 children belonging to this age group had also vaccinated for the first dose or 63.69 percent of the target population.
