3 arrested for illegal drugs

THREE men, including two who were reported missing by their families, were arrested in separate buy-busts in the cities of Cebu and Lapu-Lapu since Thursday, May 20, 2021.

On Thursday, May 20, two men who were initially reported to be missing for two days were arrested by operatives of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) in Banawa, Barangay Guadalupe during a buy bust.

Police identified them as Rhyjy Naingue, 24, and Leoneree Evangelista, 25, both residents of Sitio Villagonzalo 1 in Barangay Tejero, Cebu City.

Police allegedly got from them shabu worth P20,000.

Two days before they were arrested, Naingue and Evangelista were reported missing by their relatives.

Police Lt. Col. Wilbert Parilla, CCPO deputy director for operation, said the two were identified as illegal drug couriers and they had monitored their movements for a month.

The next day, anti-illegal drug operatives from the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO) arrested a 22-year-old electric trike (e-trike) driver in Sitio Saac 2, Barangay Mactan.

Police identified him as Mark Gil James Cartuciano Dangarang, a resident of Barangay Duljo Fatima in Cebu City.

Police recovered illegal drugs worth P14 million from Dangarang.

Police believed that Dangarang reportedly sourced out his illegal drugs from his contact who is currently detained at the Cebu City Jail. (/AYB,GCM/JKV)
