40 towns to get P2M from capitol

AT LEAST 40 local government units (LGUs) in Cebu Province will receive P2 million each from the Capitol for attending the general assembly of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Cebu Chapter on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022.Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia announced that the Capitol will be downloading P2 million to each of the LGUs whose mayors were present during the general meeting held in Lapu-Lapu City. The governor noted that just as the province started to revive its economy from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, Typhoon Odette (Rai) hit 37 LGUs in Cebu Province.“This term is without question the most challenging, the most difficult term that we could ever have weathered through. And yet, may I tell you, this term also proved to be the shining moment of our chief executives of the province of Cebu,” said Garcia, after noting no complaints from the constituents concerning their assistance after the typhoon. With the unity amid the challenges they have been through, Garcia said the mayors made the Cebuanos proud.Garcia said she had other commitments on the same day the LMP Cebu’s general meeting was scheduled, but she chose to attend the LMP event to thank the mayors for their support for her that made them united and which led to the progression of the province.
