6 Cebu grads top Optometry licensure exam

SIX graduates from Cebu-based universities made it to the top 10 of the October 2022 Optometry Licensure Examination (OLE), the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Monday, Nov. 7, 2022.

Giuseppe Roy Cabatic Campilan, a graduate of Southwestern University (SWU-Phinma), ranked first in the exam with a rating of 89.83 percent.

Campilan was one of the six Cebu graduates who were among the exam’s topnotchers this year.

Other graduates of SWU-Phinma who made it to the Top 10 were Sheena Rose Rodriguez Dubduban, who ranked third; Dacel Leah Lopez Aumentado, who ranked fifth; Mhel Niña Dawn Alvarico Jumawan, who ranked eighth; and Yna Alyanna Soon Villaver, who landed in the 10th place.

Cebu Doctors’ University’s Johanna Mae Florido Gayod ranked seventh with a rating of 87.15 percent.

Aside from having the most number of topnotchers, SWU Phinma was considered the only top performing school for this year’s OLE with around 65 out of 76 examinees who passed the exam.

PRC said 179 out of 285 examinees passed the exam which took place on Oct. 23 to 31. (CLC)
