SEVEN persons were hurt, including a seven-year-old boy, after the multicab they were riding fell off a cliff in Barangay Talayong, Badian, southwest Cebu on Thursday night, March 10, 2022.Local police identified those hurt in the accident as Dionesio Español Sotomayor, 58, driver of the multicab; his wife Margarita, 49; Agnes Elguerra Davin, 41; Earl Gian Elguerra Davin, 7; Erica Faith Elguerra Davin, 19; Jomar Bayno Pesalbon; and Rosalinda Davin Villahermosa, 42.Police Corporal Norman Aparre, an investigator of the Badian Police Station, told SunStar Cebu that the victims were aboard Sotomayor’s multicab when the accident occurred around 7:23 p.m.Aparre said Sotomayor was driving his multicab in a steep road in Barangay Talayong when the driver lost control of his gears, forcing the vehicle to skid down backward and into a 15-foot cliff.The victims, except for Villahermosa, were brought to a local hospital in Badian for medical attention.Villahermosa had to be brought to a hospital in Cebu City due to her injuries from the accident.Aparre said the victims were heading to Sotomayor’s house in Barangay Talayong to celebrate the birthday of his grandchild.They were just a few meters from Sotomayor’s house when the accident happened, Aparre added.
