Lieutenant Junior Grade Stephen Pagcaliwagan said the number includes 51 motorbancas, five speedboats, five tugboats, three yachts, two tour boats, one passenger vessel, one passenger cargo vessel and eight other motor vessels.
Pagcaliwagan reminded the public that the deadline of the registration, which is free of charge, is on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
For vessels that are under 35 gross tonnage (GT), applicants must present a passenger ship safety certificate, a certificate of public convenience for commercial and public use of vessel only, and a clear copy of the identification card (ID) of the captain or operator of the banca.
For vessels that are 35 GT and above, applicants must submit a cargo ship safety certificate and an ID of the captain or operator.
The seaborne procession, in which the images of the Sto. Niño, the Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Joseph are brought to Cebu City after staying overnight at the Nuestra Señora de la Regla Parish National Shrine in Lapu-Lapu City, is held a day before the Fiesta Señor.
The PCG had chosen Barko ng Republika ng Pilipinas Cabra, a 44.5-meter Parola-class patrol vessel, to transport the images.
The route of the seaborne procession will include the waters off the coast of Barangays Suba, Pasil and Sawang Calero in Cebu City and waters off the coast of the cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu.
It will kick off from the Naval Forces Central port in Barangay Looc, Lapu-Lapu City around 6 a.m. on Saturday. (ANV / PJB)
