944 nurses from private hospitals get cash aid

AROUND 944 nurses working for Cebu’s private hospitals were given their second tranche of cash assistance through the Project Balik Buhay (PBB)’s SalBabida Program.

The cash assistance they gave was for nurses handling coronavirus disease (Covid-19) patients in various private hospitals across Cebu.

The PBB SalBaBida Program was launched in July 2021 upon the initiative of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas, and through the collective generosity of the PBB Private Sector Foundation-Partners, to help enable and encourage nurses attending to Covid-19 patients across the participating private hospitals in Cebu from August to September 2021, when the entire Cebu island had suffered a Covid-19 surge due to the entry of the more contagious Delta variant.

The first tranche of salary assistance for the month of August benefited 993 nurses from participating private hospitals, following the agreed upon program requirements. (JOB, PR)
