Additional Pfizer doses arrive in CV

CENTRAL Visayas received on Monday night, July 26, 2021, a total of 51,480 fresh doses of Pfizer vaccine, said Mary Jean Loreche, Visayas Covid-19 Vaccination Operations Center spokesperson on Tuesday, July 27.

This is in addition to the 293,670 doses of Pfizer separately delivered to the region as of July 22.

Overall, the region has received an allocation of 1,534,170 doses of vaccines composed of 719,440 (Sinovac); 347,600 (AstraZeneca); 345,150 (Pfizer); 10,700 (Gamaleya); and 111,280 (Janssen).

Of these doses, a total of 657,079 were administered in the entire Cebu island including those administered in both public and private vaccination sites.

The entire Cebu has used a total of 434,380 doses as first dose and 222,699 as second dose as of Monday, July 26.

Cebu City has given 156,016 individuals their first dose. Almost half of this number or 83,643 already received their second dose.

Next to have the most number of administered vaccine doses is Cebu Province which fully vaccinated a total of 69,188 individuals with 63,359 others awaiting their second dose.

Mandaue City and Lapu Lapu City administered a total of 138,027 and 77,658 doses respectively.

Meanwhile, Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak who was tasked by Mayor Edgardo Labella to monitor the city’s vaccination rollout said 5,733 individuals were vaccinated on July 26 — the highest number of vaccinees recorded in a single day.

According to the Cebu Vaccination Statistics (CVS), 24.16 percent of Cebu City’s eligible population between the age of 18 years old and above had been vaccinated. Of the number, 12.95 percent received their two doses. (PAC)
