POLICE Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba was relieved from his post as director of Police Regional Office (PRO) Central Visayas effective on Monday, Dec. 19, 2022.
Alba was transferred to the Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development in Camp Crame. The transfer happened just two months after Alba was assigned as PRO Central Visayas chief, and the Philippine National Police did not immediately state the reason for his transfer.
He will be replaced by Brig. Gen. Jerry Fornaleza Beariz, the former director of PRO Central Luzon.
Alba was appointed PRO Central Visayas director on Oct. 14, 2022.
He earlier directed all police station commanders, from city directors to provincial directors, to respond to media and challenged them to solve criminality in their respective jurisdictions in 92 days. (AYB / LMY)
