Alert Level 1 for Cebu City, 48 other areas till March 31

CEBU City and 48 other areas in the country will be under Alert Level 1 from March 16 to 31, 2022, acting presidential spokesperson Martin Andanar announced on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.The announcement comes after Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said Monday that 39 areas, including Metro Manila, would remain under Alert Level 1, the lowest quarantine status reached so far in the country amid the Covid-19 pandemic.Cebu City and Siquijor are the local government units (LGU) in Central Visayas that will be under Alert Level 1 until the end of the month. Siquijor was already previously under Alert Level 1 from March 1-15.Other LGUs in Central Visayas – the provinces of Cebu, Bohol and Negros Oriental, and the highly urbanized cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu — remain under Alert Level 2.In Cebu City, only two barangays had recorded double-digit active Covid-19 cases in the past 10 days, according to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).Barangay Tinago had 18 active cases while Camputhaw had 12 for the period of March 5-14, the EOC reported on Tuesday, March 15.Forty-four barangays in Cebu City also had active cases in the past 10 days, but all of their cases were in the single digits.In the same period, 34 barangays had not logged a single coronavirus disease infection.Cebu City, which is composed of 80 barangays, logged 141 active cases as of March 14.Under Alert Level 1 are the following areas:Luzon: Abra, Apayao, Baguio City, Kalinga, Dagupan City, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Batanes, Cagayan, City of Santiago, Isabela, Quirino, Angeles City, Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Olongapo City, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Lucena City, Marinduque, Puerto Princesa City, Romblon, Naga City, Catanduanes, National Capital Region;Visayas: Aklan, Bacolod City, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo City, Biliran, Ormoc City, Tacloban City;Mindanao: Zamboanga City, Cagayan de Oro City, Camiguin, Davao City, Caraga and Butuan City.Other areas in the country will be under Alert Level 2.
