A 46-YEAR-OLD cancer patient allegedly took his own life in Barangay Suba, Danao City, Cebu on Sunday afternoon, August 21, 2022.The victim was identified as Pedro Gorre Cambaya, single, and a resident of P.G. Almendras Street.The Danao City Police Station was informed about the incident, which took place around 4 p.m., by personnel of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.It immediately dispatched operatives to the scene to interview witnesses.According to initial investigation, the victim had been alone these past few days and was looking depressed.His mother Sherlita said she had gone to church in the morning. When she returned home later in the afternoon, she went to his room to check on him.When she opened the door, she was shocked to find him hanging from the wooden trusses with a nylon rope tied around his neck.With the help of relative and neighbors, she said they untied him but he was already dead.Police advised the mother to have his body undergo an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
