DUE to the implementation of Executive Order (EO) 35-B issued by Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia requiring all public utility vehicles (PUVs) to pass through the terminals, the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) and the Cebu North Bus Terminal (CNBT) have seen an increase in their terminal fee collections since Aug. 6, 2021.
CSBT manager Carmen Quijano confirmed that PUVs are 100 percent compliant with the EO, resulting in the increase in their collections.
Quijano said P1,252,950 in terminal fees and P102,920 in taxi terminal fees were collected from Aug. 1 to 15.
Quijano said their collections started to increase on Aug. 6, the first day of the EO implementation which had a total of P34,750 in terminal fees and P1,890 in taxi terminal fees.
On Aug. 14, the CSBT collected P79,650 in terminal fees and P2,700 in taxi terminal fees.
Meanwhile, the CNBT also collected P582,400 in terminal fees and P30,260 in taxi terminal fees from Aug. 1 to 15.
On Aug. 6, the CNBT collected P34,750 in terminal fees and P1,890 in taxi fees. On Aug. 14, it collected of P79,650 in terminal fees and P2,670 in taxi terminal fees.
Quijano said Calvo, Metrolink, Sunrays and Ceres Liner bus companies procured air purifiers for their drivers and conductors for free; however, Chan minibus required its drivers to pay P500 in addition to the P800 that will be deducted from their salary. (MVE)
