Cebu City elderly set to receive P3K in cash assistance on March 27

THOUSANDS of Cebu City residents who are 60 years old and above will receive their P3,000 financial assistance starting March 27, 2021.

This was announced by Mayor Edgardo Labella on Monday, March 15. The cash aid is for the months of January, February and March.

The City Government provides annual cash aid of P12,000 to its qualified constituents aged 60 and above.

Labella said the aid will be delivered to the households to protect the elderly from mass gathering in one place, a super-spreader of Covid-19 infection.

For the 15,000 elderly who were the first to receive a cash card from the Land Bank of the Philippines, the P3,000 aid will be directly credited by the City Treasurer’s Office to their accounts so that they can withdraw their aid from automated teller machines (ATMs).

The Labella administration is trying to provide cash cards to more than 80,000 elderly so that they can collect their monthly assistance worth P1,000 at ATMs.

In the coming weeks, the City Government will also provide assistance to at least 12,000 persons with disabilities in the city who, just like the elderly, will also receive P12,000 in cash aid every year. (PAC / KAL)
