Cebu City police collar 3 ‘pushers,’ seize ‘shabu’ worth over P6 million

ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives of the Cebu City Police Office’s units seized illegal drugs worth P6.1 million and arrested three persons in separate operations on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

The police seized a total of 905 grams of white substance they described as methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu.”

The first suspect, Leegine Caballes, was caught past 10 p.m. in Modesta St., Barangay Guadalupe.

Seized from Caballes, 27, were 500 grams of “shabu” worth P3.4 million.

The Cebu City Drug Enforcement Unit led by Maj. Jonathan Taneo conducted the drug bust against the suspect, who reportedly received her instructions from someone inside the Cebu City Jail in Barangay Kalunasan.

The suspect served as courier and custodian of illegal drugs.

Past 11 p.m., Mambaling Police Station Chief Maj. Dindo Juanito Alaras led his team in arresting Estrella Villanueva, 39, and her alleged cohort Bernabe Tan, 25, during a drug bust in Sitio Pagatpat, Barangay Mambaling.

The suspects yielded 405 grams of “shabu” worth P2.7 million.

Alaras said they obtained information that Villanueva had been in prison in Metro Manila for 12 years.

For Villanueva’s alleged involvement in selling illegal drugs, the police described the suspect as a “drug queen.”

The suspects will be facing complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Selling illegal drugs is a non-bailable offense. (with KAL)
