Cebu FC beats Maharlika FC, moves up to 3rd in PFL

CEBU FC captured its second win in the 2022 Philippines Football League (PFL) after a dominant 5-1 victory over Maharlika Manila FC on Sept. 10 at the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.After being down 1-0, Cebu FC scored the equalizer with a goal by Chima Uzoka in the 27th minute.Arda Cinkir scored the go-ahead goal in the 31st coming off a lob pass by JB Borlongan.Uzoka scored a brace in the 57th minute.Cebu FC’s onslaught continued after Mert Altinoz joined in the fray and scored in the 64th minute.Marius Kore finished Maharlika FC off with a goal in the 88th minute.Meanwhile, defending champion United City FC (UCFC) stayed unbeaten with a 4-2 win over Stallion Laguna FC at the Biñan Football Stadium in Biñan, Laguna.Kenshiro Daniels, Amirbek Juraboev, Ricky Sendra and Mark Hartmann scored for UCFC.Idle Kaya FC-Iloilo is still at the top of the league table with 15 points, UCFC remained at second place with 10 points, Cebu FC moved up to third with eight points, Stallion FC dropped to fourth place with five points, Azkals Development Team is fifth with four, Mendiola FC 1991 is sixth with three points, while Maharlika FC sits at the bottom with no points.
