Sudden heavy rains that occurred at around early afternoon on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, caused the Kinalumsan River–which traverses from Barangays Buhisan, Labangon, Tisa, Punta Princesa and Mambaling–to overflow, causing massive flooding in some parts of the City.
The flashfloods also directly affected residents living below the Kinalumsan Bridge in C. Padilla St., in Mambaling. Some residents had to be rescued by emergency personnel after they were caught traversing floodwaters just to get to their homes.
