Choco Mucho downs Chery Tiggo, moves closer to finals berth in PVL

The Choco Mucho Flying Titans inched closer to booking a seat in the finals as they defeated the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, 25-18, 25-22, 25-21, in Game One of the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the PCV Socio-Civic Cultural Center in Bacarra.

The Flying Titans went on a remarkable run in the second and third sets as they racked up 12 straight points bridging the two periods. The first five let them snatch the second set, 25-22, after trailing 20-22, while the next seven set the tempo for what would be a 25-21 win in the third.

“I will not say na we dominated, we just played right siguro yung kalaban nagulat lang din,” shared Choco Mucho head coach Oliver Almadro after the match.

Kat Tolentino led the Flying Titans with 11 points while Ponggay Gaston and Bea De Leon added 10 markers apiece in the series-opening victory. Cebuana setter Deanna Wong set the table up beautifully for her teammates and finished with 16 excellent sets laced with four points.

On the other hand, Dindin Santiago-Manabat had a game-high 17 points for the Crossovers while Jaja Santiago was held to just nine. (JNP)
