Consolacion evacuation center to be used as isolation facility

THE Consolacion Government will open its evacuation center to accommodate more Covid-19 patients.

Consolacion Mayor Johannes Alegado told SunStar Cebu that he anticipates more Covid-19 cases in town.

He said two isolation facilities, the Consolacion Community College and My Home Facility in Brgy. Tayud, have reached 80 to 90 percent utilization rate. These facilities can accommodate 60 Covid-19-positive individuals.

The evacuation center which is not occupied yet, can cater to an additional 15 to 20 individuals in case two isolation facilities will reach full capacity, Alegado added.

He said about 200 households are under granular lockdown after family members were infected with Covid-19.

Alegado urged the residents to voluntarily undergo swab or antigen tests if they experience Covid-19 symptoms so they can be treated and isolated immediately.

PUMs

Alegado said they have acquired three schools from the Department of Education for persons under monitoring (PUMs) such as direct contacts who are not positive and travelers from other provinces without a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction test.

He said they asked for 30 to 40 classrooms to be converted to quarantine facilities in Tayud and Jugan Elementary Schools and Consolacion Central School.

“We are also expecting another isolation facility or temporary treatment and monitoring facility from the Department of Public Works and Highways as it promised us one in 2020,” Alegado added.

Alegado assured that they continue to give assistance to those families infected with Covid-19 and those individuals whose livelihood had been affected by the modified enhanced community quarantine. (MVE)
