A POLICE officer who belongs to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal K9 Unit was arrested after he was accused of sexually harassing a 16-year-old girl.Captain Armil Caloscos, chief of Mandaue Police Station 4, identified the suspect as Staff Sergeant Ronald Manlangit, of Barangay Cabangcalan, Mandaue City.According to Caloscos that a certain Aireen (real name withheld), 16, of Mandaue City went to the station around 11 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2022 and told the police on duty that she was sexually harassed by Manlangit.Aireen narrated to the police that she and the suspect got acquainted through the social media and that they agreed to meet personally last Sunday.Aireen said that when they finally met somewhere in Mandaue the suspect brought her to his house and later invited her to get inside his room to have someconversation.While inside the room, Aireen said the suspect began caressing her and inserted his finger in her genital, prompting her to run outside and shout for help.Manlangit is now detained at the Mandaue Police Station 4 detention cell and is now facing charges filed against him by the 16-year-old victim.Aside from the rape charge, Caloscos said the suspect is also facing another charge in violation of the gun ban as he was carrying a gun when police arrested during his day off.
