Cops arrest high-value drug suspect in Lapu-Lapu City

POLICE collared a high-value drug suspect in a buy-bust operation conducted by the City Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the Lapu-Lapu Police Office (LCPO) on Sunday, June 13, 2021.

The operation, led by team CIU team leader, Police Lieutenant Noah Añana under the supervision of Police Major Joey Bicoy, took place near the Public Utility Jeepney Terminal in barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City at 8:30 a.m. on June 13.

Arrested was Emmanuel Hugo Pastrano, also known as Noel, a resident of Barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City.

Police confiscated from Pastrano’s possession one pouch, with eight small packs of what they believed to be shabu, weighing 213 grams and estimated to be worth P1,448,444.

CIU operatives said they conducted surveillance on Pastrano for a month after they received information on his illegal activities.

Pastrano, who was jobless, reportedly has a contact inside the jail where he gets his supply then sells it to buyers.

Police, however, said Pastrano had no links to the three drug suspects killed by operatives in a buy-bust operation last June 11 in barangay Taptap, Cebu City. The suspects, who yielded P68 million worth of shabu, reportedly had a different supplier. (GCM)
