CENTRAL Visayas Football Association (CVFA) won its opener in the 2022 Philippine Football Federation (PFF) U-19 National Championship Division 2 Visayas Leg with a 1-0 victory over Eastern Visayas Regional Football Association (EVRFA) on June 18 at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).Former Cebu FC striker Yoji Selman scored CVFA’s lone goal in the 58th minute. He beat EVRFA goalkeeper Borg Conopio’s defense coming off a pass by Gianrenzo Custado.In the other Group E match, Kaya FC-Iloilo beat Negros Oriental-Siquijor Regional Football Association (NOSIRFA), 2-1.The team with the highest points in Group E moves on to Group B of the National Group Stage along with the top finishers of Group F, Group G, and Group H. The squads face off in a single round-robin in the National Group Stage. The top team wins the title of Visayas-Mindanao group and will be promoted to the First Division.
