This after city officials led by Mayor Thomas Mark “Mix” Durano signed the memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Call Center Academy (CCA), Ramon Nito Durano Family Foundation Inc.
(RNDFFI) and members of the city’s academic institutions to provide free scholarship program trainings on IT Business Processing Management (IT-BPM).
The agreement was signed on Friday, March 3, 2023.
Aside from Durano, present during the MOA signing were Danao City Investment and Promotions Center acting head and former congressman Ramon “Red” Durano VI, CCA acting head Merrideth Supremo, RNDFFI president and former Tourism Secretary Joseph Felix Mari “Ace” Durano, Danao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) president Ireneo Mildred Tangalin and representatives of the Cebu Technological University’s Danao campus and the Colegio de San Antonio de Padua.
Member of the Danao City Council led by Vice Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III were also present during the ceremony.
Through the program, the City Government can provide free IT-BPM training for aspiring call center workers and create opportunities for their constituents who don’t have the resources and access to institutional support.
The scholarship program covers IT-BPM courses accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) such as courses under the Training for Work Scholarship Program, namely contact center services national certificate (NC) II, medical transcription NC II, events management services NC III and Creative Web Design.
“This IT-BPM Scholarship Program in partnership with the renowned training institution and Tesda accredited school, Call Center Academy is just the beginning of our long term partnership in making Danao City the next IT hub in the Island of Cebu, making its landmark as the next Digital City of the Philippines,” Mayor Durano said.(JKV, PR)
