A TOTAL of P15 million worth of illegal drugs has been seized by the Police Regional Office (PRO) in Central Visayas.The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) seized over P10 million worth of illegal drugs, mostly shabu, outperforming other units under the PRO 7.The anti-narcotics operations started at dawn Saturday, June 11, 2022 and ended at midnight of June 12.According to the PRO 7, its units launched 172 operations that resulted in the arrest of 172 drug personalities and seizure of more than two kilos of shabu.Police also seized 257 unlicensed firearms and caught 229 people participating in illegal gambling activities.PRO 7 Director Brig. Gen. Eduardo Vega said their operations against illegal drugs, gambling and other crimes will continue despite the ongoing coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.“Despite the challenges brought about by the pandemic, PRO 7 took the challenge to intensify police operations in the region. I congratulate everyone on a job well done and for making each operation successful,” Vega said.
