Diale faces Medura for WBC ABCO belt

TOUGH veteran Ardin Diale takes on Alvin Medura for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council (ABCO) super bantamweight belt in one of the triple-headers of “Night of Champions XXIII” on June 26, 2021 at the Elorde Sports Center in Paranaque City.

The 32-year-old Diale looks to end a three-fight losing streak and hopefully get back into the world rankings.

Diale lost to Wulan Tuolehazin by majority decision in China, Yelshat Nikhemtolla by unanimous decision in Kazakhstan and Yusuke Mine also by unanimous decision in Japan all in 2019.

Title challenger

Diale is a former world title challenger and has faced the likes of Rodel Mayol, Wanheng Menayothin, Johnriel Casimero, Julio Cesar Miranda, Juan Francisco Estrada, Daigo Higa and Moruti Mthalane.

Medura, on the other hand, also dropped his last fight.

He was stopped by unbeaten Thai prospect Chainoi Worawut in the sixth round in their WBC ABCO super bantamweight title fight in Thailand in 2019.

Diale is 35-16-4 with 17 knockouts, while Medura is 9-5 with seven knockouts.

On the other hand, Chris Paulino (21-5, 8 KOs) faces Renz Rosia for the Games and Amusements Board Philippine super flyweight belt.

Also in the card, Jhon Gemino (21-12-1, 11 KOs) locks horns with Virgel Vitor (15-2, 9 KOs) for the GAB Philippine featherweight crown. (EKA)
