DOLE building in Cebu City temporarily closed

THE Department of Labor and Employment-Central Visayas (DOLE 7) building in Gorordo Avenue and Mango Avenue Extension in Cebu City has been temporarily closed due to the fire that hit the structure on Sunday, July 11, 2022.The fire hit the office of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (Owwa), which is located in the same building, but it spread to other offices.Other agencies holding offices in the area are the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, National Labor Relations Commission Seventh Division, National Conciliation and Mediation Board, Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board, and the Occupational Safety and Health Center.The building’s closure may take about three to five days, said the DOLE 7 in a statement.The DOLE and other attached agencies have implemented a work-from-home arrangement to continue providing services to the public.According to DOLE 7, it has also set up a makeshift office on the agency’s parking lot.
