Festive weddings, anniversaries, entertainment concerts and birthday parties gathered a larger crowd.The yearly Pasigarbo sa Sugbu brought back street dancing where towns competed for best performances. The huge Abellana grounds and bleachers were filled with spectators. Expect more beauty pageants and countryside tours. Travel agencies are coming up with cruises and tours. Aida Uy, Margaret Villarica, Zenaida Chua, Alice Queblatin, Ann Momongan, Baby Dy, Cherrypie Callelero and other travel pacesetters will be busy again.Meanwhile, the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) alumni are preparing for a big concert, Tatak Recoleto, come October, to celebrate the 75 years of USJ-R in Cebu. The event features talented thespians and singers from the then CSJ-R Dramatics Guild and the USJR Dramatics and Cultural Ensemble across the globe.The producers and directors are Gloria Villarojo, Eli Manlangit, Sam Costanilla, among other active alumni. Guest performers include quartet Sakdap. Expect a potpourri of versatile talents.USJ-R, besides its continuing quest for Quality Christian Community Oriented Education, has a wealth of gifted performers, entrepreneurs and educators.
