Espina: Covid vaccination

After the hesitance and indifference of many Filipino families toward being vaccinated against Covid-19, now we see an almost uncontrollable crowd wanting to be vaccinated.

We commend Cebu, through its proactive leaders, for seeking viable alternatives to extend vaccinations and other related services in our barangays.

The dynamic Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia, Cebu City Mayor Edgar Labella, and hands-on Cebu City Vice Mayor Mike Rama, with their competent and dedicated teams of able frontliners coordinated by Dr. Peter Mancao—and with the full cooperation of the barangays, Eruf, the academe, businesses, churches and public and private hospitals, clinics and centers—make a perfect team.

Vaccination centers are UC Medical Center, SM Seaside City Cebu, Robinsons Galleria Cebu, among others. The compactness of Cebu and its local governments is a great factor in coping with crises.

The senior citizens are well taken care of through special days, and soon, home service vaccination period.

In a way, Covid-19 has strengthened our bayanihan spirit. We see this during natural calamities and emergencies. Of course, we don’t need plagues like Covid to test our agility.

The media have been in full scale of information and seminar dissemination. The entrepreneurial flexibility of the Pinoys, our resiliency, and our recent Olympics victories, turn threats to viable opportunities.

Cebu IT Park, along Salinas Drive, has complete facilities, specifically answering health-related needs. Aventus provides prompt and reliable lab tests and other medical assistance, handled very professionally. Cebu IT Park houses many call centers, medical and pharmaceutical firms, food outlets, supermarkets and convenience stores. It is also near St. Therese Parish and other religious centers. Indeed, Cebu IT Park is a small universe in itself.

With Divine Providence, the world will continue to seek solutions to abet natural and health crises.
