Fellows for 2021 Hinashasan Creative Writing Workshop: Senior High Edition named

THE University of San Carlos Department of Communications, Linguistics and Literature has chosen the fellows for the 2021 Hinashasan Creative Writing Workshop: Senior High Edition to be held via Zoom from June 16 to 18, 2021.

The workshop serves as a venue for aspiring writers from the senior high and incoming first-year college levels to have their works critiqued, find their voice through creative literary output and acquaint them with a wider writing community.

The workshop fellows for poetry are Eryka Jean Bertulfo (University of San Carlos), Reggie Faye Canarias (Davao City National High School), Katrylle Jed Dumanglas (University of San Carlos), Danielle Go (Sacred Heart School-Hijas de Jesus), Iris Fay Ling (Sacred Heart School –Hijas de Jesus), Samuel Mendez (University of San Carlos), Anthoniette Marie Mercado (University of San Carlos), Mikel Val Midel (Ateneo de Zamboanga University), Athena Nasayao (University of San Carlos), Ellen Joy Quibod (University of San Carlos) and Phoebe Joyce Tan (Sacred Heart School-Hijas de Jesus).

For fiction, the fellows are Jerrel Flores (University of San Carlos), Jovielle Fatima Juele (University of San Carlos), Kryshna Carylle Mitra (Ateneo de Zamboanga University) and Jaienne Braveree Suralta (Sacred Heart School–Ateneo de Cebu).

Constituting the panel of critics are writers Jona Branzuela Bering, Jeneth Borlasa, Mark Anthony Daposala, Jessrel Gilbuena, Niño Augustine Loyola, Haidee Emmie Palapar and Dave Pregoner.

Fictionist Charles Dominic Sanchez will serve as the workshop director.
