Food outlet turns over P20,000 cash left by customer

THE management of a food outlet in uptown Cebu City turned over cash on Wednesday morning, February 22, 2023, which the customer had left behind.

Ayers Lechon general manager Mandy Carlos handed over the P20,000 cash to Barangay Labangon councilor Kim Kyle Buendia.

Buendia reportedly left the money placed in an envelope at the counter after dining at the restaurant on January 10.

Restaurant’s cashier Mary-ann Jumao-as discovered the money and gave it to the management for safekeeping.

Carlos explained that it took so long to return the money left at the counter because they were not able to find Buendia.

He said they were only able to locate Buendia when they saw him in Superbalita Cebu’s Facebook page where he was interviewed after a fire that broke out in the barangay’s Sitio Callejon last month.

According to Buendia, the money was supposed to be spent for the barangay’s float for Sinulog Festival in Cebu City on January 15. (BBT/TPT)
