Guv turns over P94M in cash aid to 10 Cebu 5th District LGUs

AROUND P94 million worth of cash aid were given by the Cebu Provincial Government to 10 local government units (LGUs) under Cebu’s Fifth District.

Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia led the distribution of the cash aid during the two-day Provincial Caravan of Government Services held in Cebu’s Fifth District from Thursday, March 2, 2023, to Friday, March 3.

On Thursday, March 2, Garcia and Deputy Speaker Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco (Cebu, Fifth), turned over the checks to the beneficiary LGUs represented by Mayor Aljew Frasco of Liloan, Mayor Felijur Quiño of Compostela, Mayor Carlo Villamor of Carmen, Mayor Avis Monleon of Catmon, Mayor Lissa Marie “Moonyeen” Durano-Streegan of Sogod and Mayor Noel Dotillos of Borbon.

On Friday, Garcia also turned over the checks for the mayors of the four towns on Camotes Islands.

The towns of San Francisco, Poro, and Tudela received checks an accumulated amount of P13 million from Garcia, while Pilar was given P9 million.

These will fund the various projects of the mayors, vice mayors, municipal councilors, and the Association of Barangay Councils in each town.

Receiving the checks were officials of the four island towns led by San Francisco Mayor Alfredo Arquillano Jr., Poro Mayor Garry Rama, Tudela Mayor Greman Solante and Pilar Mayor Manuel Santiago.

Aside from the cash aid, Garcia also brought her caravan of services to the mainland and island towns under the district.

The local chief executives expressed their gratitude for the Province’s ongoing support for their towns through financial aid and other services.(PAC, JKV / TPT)
