Jordan loses in Thailand

FILIPINO prospect Ken Jordan suffered a unanimous decision loss to world-rated Thai Thattana Luangphon in a World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council super bantamweight fight in Bangkok, Thailand.It was a dominant performance by Thattana, also known as Chainoi Worawut, as he won almost all the rounds.All three judges scored it in favor of Thattana with scores of 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91.Thattana is ranked No. 6 in the WBC and is poised to challenge for WBC super bantamweight belt, currently around the waist Stephen Fulton, in the near future.Jordan suffered just his second defeat in 13 pro fights and dropped to 9-2 with eight knockouts, while Thattana remained unbeaten and improved to 17-0-1 with 13 knockouts.On the other hand, Herlan Gomez, the other Pinoy fighter fighting in the same event, defeated Thattana’s brother, Parin Luangphon, by a unanimous decision on the undercard.Gomez totally outclassed Parin and won in the eyes of all three judges with identical scores of 58-55, 58-55 and 58-55.Gomez stayed undefeated and upped his record to 4-0 with two knockouts, while Parin got his first career loss and fell to 2-1 with a knockout.
