Loman dominated the 42-year-old Fernandes with his striking takedowns and deadly ground-and-pound.
Fernandes, who looked his age and was a step slower, survived the 27-year-old Loman’s onslaught but was clearly behind the scorecards.
With the win, Loman could be next in line and challenge the winner of the ONE bantamweight title rematch between John Lineker and Fabricio Andrade.
Loman, the No. 5 rated bantamweight, improved to 16-2, while Fernandes suffered his second straight defeat and dropped to 24-5.
On the other hand, former ONE bantamweight champion Kevin Belingon suffered his fifth straight defeat after a first-round technical knockout in the hands of fast-rising South Korean prospect Kim Jae Woong on the same card.
Kim caught Belingon with a left hook that dropped him on his back. He finished him off with some vicious ground-and-pound that forced referee Mohamad Sulaiman to stop the fight at the 2:33 mark.
Belingon dropped to 20-10, while Kim moved to 13-6.
In ONE 163 show, Fil-Kiwi Mark Abelardo suffered his second straight defeat in the ONE Championship cage after a third-round stoppage in the hands of No. 4 ranked bantamweight Kwon Won Il.
Kwon dropped Abelardo with a knee and then followed it up with some heavy bombs to the ground that forced referee Olivier Coste to end it at the 3:45 mark of the third frame.
Abelardo fell to 20-10, while Kwon remained on course for a possible future world title shot and improved to 12-4. (EKA)
