LTFRB urges transport coops to renew certificate of good standing

THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in Central Visayas (LTFRB 7) has urged all transport service cooperatives to renew their Certificate of Good Standing (CGS) at the Office of Transport Cooperative (OTC), an attached agency of the Department of Transportation.LTFRB 7 Director Eduardo Montealto Jr. said that only three out of the 69 transport cooperatives have so far renewed their CGS based on a letter dated September 20 that they received from OTC.These are the Cebu Mepza Liloan Drivers and Operators Transport Cooperative, Loboc Operators Transport Cooperative and United Drivers and Operators Transport Cooperative.Their CGS will expire on June 30, 2023 yet.Montealto believed that others have not renewed their CGS yet because these are still active.Montealto said that transport cooperatives should renew their permits since this is one of the requirements when they transact with the LTFRB office.Based on the LTFRB’s policy, those who have no CGS documents will not be entertained.”We would like to urge all Transport Service Cooperative (TSC) to renew their Certificate of Good Standing (CGS) with the Office of Transport Cooperative (OTC). This office will only entertain duly accredited Transport Cooperative with valid Certificate of Good Standing,” said the LTFRB 7 in its message posted on the agency’s Facebook page.”Ang good standing pabor na nila kay tan-awon na sa OTC og maayo ba ilang financial management. Kon okay gani tagaan sila og CGS,” Montealto said.(Their good standing is in their favor because this is where the OTC will see if their financial management is good. If it’s okay, they will be given a CGS).Montealto said the CGS can be obtained for free from the OTC.He said transport cooperatives can apply for CGS through online for fast processing. (PAC, TPT)
