LTO 7 launches service center for priority sectors

THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) 7 has launched its Malasakit Service Center that will cater to members of priority sectors such as the senior citizens, differently abled persons, and pregnant and lactating mothers, on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021.

Victor Emmanuel Caindec, LTO 7 director, said to better utilize the existing Malasakit lounge located at the LTO 7 Office on N. Bacalso Ave. beside the Cebu South Bus Terminal, the agency, through LTO Cebu City District Office Chief Joel Maloloy-on, decided to convert it into a Service Center for priority sector members.

The Malasakit Center started its operations on Feb. 19. Due to the pandemic and the required minimum health care protocol, it can cater to only 20 to 30 individuals per day.

Caindec said for now, the Service Center can only accommodate licensing transactions.

He said the Malasakit Service Center still looks like a lounge equipped with air conditioning units, air purifiers, sockets for the clients’ use and playroom for clients who bring their children during their transaction with LTO 7.

He said their clients just have to register and the LTO personnel will be the ones to approach them to collect their documents.

The LTO 7’s Driver’s Education Center and the upcoming new LTO registration unit are also stationed in the center.

Caindec said the renovation for the two driving school classrooms is almost done.

He said one of the classrooms will continue to cater to all clients of the agency while the other will be primarily intended for those with special needs. (WBS)
