Magramo brothers rule “Boksing Kontra sa Droga”

THE Magramo brothers were victorious in the double-header of “Boksing Kontra sa Droga” last Friday night, July 8, 2022, at The Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex in Parañaque City.Giemel Magramo demolished fellow former world title challenger Jerry Tomongdan in the third round of the main event.Giemel dropped Tomongdan in the first round and in the third round where referee Sammy Bernabe Sr. halted the fight at the 1:12 mark.The 27-year-old Giemel improved to 26-2 with 21 knockouts, while Tomongdan dropped to 29-13-4 with 15 knockouts.On the other hand, Giemel’s younger brother, Arvin Magramo, beat Ronald Alapormina via a majority decision in a very close and exciting eight-round contest.Arvin got the nod of two of the three judges with scores of 77-75 and 78-74, while the other judge saw it as a 76-76 draw.Arvin is now 14-1-1 with nine knockouts, while a very tough Alapormina fell to 5-4-3 with two knockouts.All the proceeds of the event promoted by Johnny Elorde Management International were given to the family of former world title challenger Toto Landero, who died last week.Landero died after drowning in the Tabla River in Negros Occidental.
