Marcial makes easy work of Argentina’s Villalba

OLYMPIC bronze medal winner Eumir Marcial scored an impressive second-round stoppage over veteran Ricardo Ruben Villalba at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023 (PH time).

Marcial used his stiff jabs to open up Villalba and sent him to the canvass with a solid left hook to the body in the opening round.

Villalba came out aggressive in the second round. However, the 27-year-old Marcial was calm and landed a left straight that rocked Villalba. He followed it up with a looping right hook that dropped Villalba. Villalba tried to beat the count but he was still wobbly, which forced referee Mark Calo-oy to end it at the 48-second mark.

Marcial remained undefeated with a record of 4-0 with two knockouts, while Villalba fell to 20-8-1 with eight knockouts. (EKA)
