Meralco guns for second straight leg crown in PBA 3×3

THE Meralco Bolts seek to capture another leg title as they compete in Leg 5 of the PBA 3×3 Lakas Ng Tatlo Second Conference on April 2 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.The Bolts will be playing without Cebuano big man Alfred Batino due to plantar fasciitis in his foot. He will be replaced by Maclean Sabellina in the two-day competition serving as the penultimate leg of the second conference.The Bolts are riding the momentum of their title win in the previous leg where they upended Limitless, 17-14, to claim the crown and the whopping P100,000 prize money.Tonino Gonzaga, Dexter Maiquez and Joseph Sedurifa are again going to answer the call for Meralco in its bid to become the second team to win back-to-back leg titles. Meralco opens its campaign against Pioneer Pro Tibay as it leads Pool A along with Platinum Karaoke, Cavitex, and NorthPort.Coach Patrick Fran admitted teams now have become even more competitive in the tournament since its inauguration five months ago.“Every leg is a challenge,” said the Meralco mentor. “All the teams are really hard to play against.”Limitless App meanwhile, shows the way in Pool B, accompanied by Barangay Ginebra, guest team Master Sardines, and Sista Super Sealers.In Pool C on the other hand, are regular contenders TNT Tropang Giga, San Miguel, Purefoods TJ Titans and Terrafirma 3×3.Guest teams Pioneer Pro Tibay clash with Platinum Karaoke to open hostilities in the first day of pool play starting at 8:00 a.m. and featuring another heavy 16-game schedule.
