THE Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) has noted a 4.8 percent drop in the water consumption of Metro Cebu for the year 2020 compared to 2019.
MCWD information officer Edna Inocando said in 2020, a total of 59.2 million cubic meters of water were consumed within Metro Cebu.
This is around three million cubic meters lower than the water consumption in 2019 which was 62.2 million cubic meters.
Inocando said the drop in consumption was mainly caused by quarantine restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The MCWD sources its water from dams in Buhisan, Cebu City and Jaclupan, Talisay City as well as from bulk suppliers and wells. (JJL)
