Metuda KOs Sonsona in 3 rounds

RIMAR Metuda overcame a sluggish start and scored a third round knockout over veteran Eden Sonsona in Sanman Promotions’ “Comeback Kings” on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the Sanman Boxing Gym in General Santos City.

Sonsona boxed beautifully and used his jab as his main weapon in the opening round. He used the ring really well to evade the attack of Metuda, who looked really slow on his feet.

In the second round, the 26-year-old Metuda started to unload and land heavy blows on Sonsona, who looked tentative in the round.

In the third round, Metuda threw some vicious combinations near the corner of the ring. However, Sonsona countered with a solid left uppercut that landed flush on Metuda’s jaw.

Metuda timed a left hook-right hook combination that dropped Sonsona to his knees. The referee counted out Sonsona in the 1:44 mark.

Metuda improved to 15-6-1 with eight knockouts, while Sonsona dropped to 36-13-2 with 13 knockouts.
