Minglanilla mayor holds 3-day medical mission after taking oath of office

MINGLANILLA, southern Cebu Mayor Rajiv Enad started his first day in office by organizing a three-day medical mission for his constituents on Friday, July 1, 2022.On his official Facebook page, Enad said after he took his oath, he immediately opened the three-day medical mission at the Minglanilla Sports Complex.ScheduleTo prevent overcrowding at the town’s sports complex, participants must follow a particular schedule depending on their barangay.On Friday, July 1, the medical mission catered to residents of Barangays Camps 7 and 8; Cuanos, Manduang, Tungkil, Linao-Lipata and Calajoan.On Saturday, July 2, it was the turn of residents of Barangays Candulawan, Tubod, Tunghaan, Tungkop, Wards 1 and 2.And on Sunday, July 3, residents of Barangays Tulay, Pakigne, Vito, Wards 3 and 4; and Guindaruhan can avail of the free medical services from the town.ServicesAside from medical consultations and free medicines, the three-day medical mission will also provide laboratory services such as electrocardiogram, urinalysis, Fasting Blood Sugar test, Uric Acid Test, Lipid Profile test and Fetal Doppler for pregnant women.After taking his oath of office, Enad vowed in his speech to continue serving his constituents and to remember his roots.“I will faithfully serve and lead our beloved town as your mayor. It has been quite a journey to get to this point. But it has not been an easy one, to say the least. Many would say that I have no right to expect this coveted title. Indeed, I did not inherit this position because of prominence nor was I granted this position because of privileged status. But I have always believed that destiny cannot deny hard work and dedication,” Enad added.During the May 9, 2022 elections, then councilor Enad, a lawyer, secured around 31,158 votes against his opponents for mayor. He succeeded Elanito “Lani” Peña, his running mate during the 2022 elections who is now vice mayor,Aside from Enad and Peña, all their councilor candidates were able to secure all seats in the municipal council.
