New condo to rise in Minglanilla

A NEW player in the real estate industry is building a four-story residential project in the town of Minglanilla.Widia Properties and Development Corp. broke ground Thursday, April 7, 2022, Thyme Residences in Barangay Vito, Minglanilla, Cebu.This condo project will have 100 units priced from P1.8 million to P6.7 million. It will also have four commercial spaces on the ground floor.Thyme Residences has a total lot area of 1,628 square meters. It features amenities that are thoughtfully designed for its future residents like pet-friendly spaces; a rooftop deck and jog path and leisure areas, which include the basketball half court and a garden.It is also equipped with an elevator for convenient access and a 21-slot parking area. This condominium project is also calamity-ready with amenities like a standby generator and an uninterrupted water supply. It will also have 24/7 CCTV monitoring and a guardhouse to ensure the safety and security of its future residents.Thyme Residences will also dedicate a generous 53 percent of open space to allow its residents to enjoy a “perfect balance between community and autonomy.”Wilbur Tan, the project’s architect, said the condo is ideal for millennials, startup families, investors and digital nomads who value space and where everything they need is just a few minutes’ walk.Thyme Residences is set to be completed in the third quarter of 2023.Widia Properties chief executive officer Dianne Daphne Jane Tan said the company will start pre-selling the units as soon as its license to sell comes out this month.With the Covid-19 pandemic affecting the global economy, Tan said the company remains optimistic about the growth of real estate in Cebu, particularly on the residential front.“Even with the Covid-19 pandemic, everyone still needs a home. I think Cebu still needs a lot of residential places, especially now. We realized there is a need to have space, bigger spaces and more open (because of this pandemic). That’s why with Thyme residences, we really focus on bigger and open spaces,” said Tan.Besides the improving business climate with the easing of restrictions, Tan said the continued progress in the town of Minglanilla and Cebu is giving investors like them to pursue their planned investments.She cited the soon-to-rise Minglanilla Techno-Business Park, a reclamation project that is slated to become Central Visayas’ growth center, and the Metro Cebu expressway, as support infrastructure that will help Thyme Residences capture a good slice of Cebu’s real estate industry.
