TEAM Lakay’s Jenelyn Olsim faces fellow striker Bi Nguyen in the undercard of ONE Championship – “Battleground III” on Aug. 27, 2021 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.
Olsim eyes back-to-back wins in the ONE cage after an impressive submission finish of Brazilian Maira Mazar on March 19.
Olsim earned a contract in ONE Championship after just two fights in ONE Warrior Series, ONE’s developmental league. She went 1-1, beating Claudia Diaz by unanimous decision and losing to Catlin McEwen via a first round armbar. Despite the loss to McEwen, ONE still gave her a contract to fight in the big league.
Nguyen, on the other hand, has been fighting in ONE since 2019 and has already fought six fights in the organization. She is coming off the biggest win of her career with a split decision win over rising prospect Ritu Phogat on May 15.
The winner of the fight will quickly bounce back into action and will fight Grace Cleveland in the all-Women show, ONE – “Empower” on Sept. 3.
Olsim, who trains under the guidance of Mark Sangiao, is 4-2, while Nguyen is 6-6.
The main event of “Battleground III” features a Muay Thai bout between Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong (123-32-5) and Tawanchai PK Saenchai (125-30-2).
