Payout for 1st batch of Tupad beneficiaries in Cebu City’s south district set on Dec. 1-3

AT LEAST 5,000 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (Tupad) program in Cebu City’s south district will receive their payout on Dec. 1-3, 2022.

This was announced by Cebu City South District Rep. Eduardo “Edu” Rama Jr. on Sunday, Nov. 27.

“We are aiming that all the beneficiaries will receive their payout bag-o magpasko (before Christmas). Atoang gituyo nga sa Disyembre ni nila madawat aron anaa sab silay pangpinaskohan sa ilang kaugalingon (We intend to let them receive it in December so they can buy gifts for themselves),” Rama said in a press release.

The beneficiaries from 31 barangays were hired under the first batch of Tupad with mobilization assistance from the district office of Congressman Rama in Cebu City.

Tupad is a social amelioration program by the Department of Labor and Employment that is meant to provide 10 days of work to eligible beneficiaries in return for a minimum wage.

Each beneficiary will receive P435 for each day of work. The press release from Rama’s office did not mention the venue or venues for the payout.

The beneficiaries were hired to do social community projects, such as repair, maintenance and/or improvement of common public facilities and infrastructure such as schools and health centers, debris clearing, declogging of canals, debris segregation and materials recovery, stockpiling and clearing in their respective barangays.
