The 2023 Sinulog Arc’s design is inspired by the symbolism of a tiny bud, a sprout that appears after the rain. It promises a fresh beginning and brings about hope and re-growth. This tiny plant, exposed to the elements, chooses to live and thrive. It is very much like Cebu, that, despite the challenges of the recent pandemic coupled with the devastation of Typhoon Odette, has risen steadily and now continues to recover and flourish in the post-pandemic environment.
The hashtag #BangonCebu continues to resonate and echo loudly among the Cebuanos’ resilient spirit, unfaltering faith and unceasing devotion to the Sto. Niño.
The Sinulog Festival commemorates the Feast of the Sto. Niño. This year’s theme, “Sto. Niño: Our Source of Peace in the Walk of Faith,” calls out to all the faithful to never waver, and to keep peace within their hearts as everyone goes about on their personal journeys.
