PH team athletes set to see action in Talisay City Aquathlon

ALL are set for the Talisay City Aquathlon on Oct. 9, 2022, with young and uprising multi-sport athletes competing for titles in Barangay Pooc.The race organized by national triathlon coach Roland Remolino aims to widen the promotion of endurance sports in Talisay City, which is the home of Southeast Asian (SEA) Games medalists Andrew Kim Remolino and Raven Faith Alcoseba.Remolino won a silver medal in SEA Games twice; the first was in Manila in 2019 followed in Vietnam just this year. Alcoseba bagged a bronze also in Vietnam.Famed triathlon coach Remolino said that it’s high time for Talisay City to have its own multi-sport race as it will help motivate grassroots athletes.The upcoming aquathlon will feature a 5-kilometer run, 1K swim and 5K run. About 200 participants are expected to suit up for the event.Part of the proceeds of the race will be used to fund the training program of potential triathletes under Remolino’s fold.Remolino partnered with the Talisay Luigi Triathlon Group; the Talisay City Government, through the Talisay City Sports Commission; Pooc Barangay Captain Cuenco Manreal; and Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman Ivan Tan in organizing this race.
