Philhealth’s Konsulta Package offers free medical services to registered members

REGISTERED members of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) may now avail themselves of free medical services under its Konsulta Package.

Marjorie Cabrieto, PhilHealth regional vice president, said the PhilHealth Konsulta Package is a primary healthcare provider under the Universal Healthcare (UHC) Act, which aims to give comprehensive and quality outpatient medical services.

During the PhilHealth Summit and Konsulta Member Registration 2023 held in Barangay Tabunok Gym in Talisay City on Saturday, June 3, 2023, Cabrieto said the package focuses more on prevention through consultation, which members can avail themselves of through any accredited Konsulta providers in the region.

As of December 2022, there are already 183 accredited Konsulta providers in Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.

Cabrieto said based on their data, Cebu already has 38 accredited Rural Health Units (RHU) in different municipalities that will serve as PhilHealth Konsulta Facilities.

Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) and Cebu City Medical Center are also PhilHealth Konsulta providers, she added.

She said they highly encourage people to avail themselves of the said package in order to prevent diseases and complications and hospital confinement.

“Instead of overwhelming hospitals with patients, through the Konsulta package, people can just proceed to accredited facilities, have themselves be examined and have their medicines” said Cabrieto.

The PhilHealth Konsulta Package includes consultations, health risk screening and assessment, 13 laboratory and diagnostic tests, and medicines for asthma, colds and coughs, pneumonia, diarrhea, urinary tract infection, hypertension and diabetes.

Laboratory and diagnostic tests include CBC with platelet count, urinalysis, fecalysis, sputum microscopy, fecal occult blood, pap smear, lipid profile, fasting blood sugar (fbs), oral glucose tolerance test, ECG, chest x-ray, creatinine and HbA1c test.

Registered members of PhilHealth may choose their preferred accredited Konsulta facilities through self-registration via the member portal www.philhealth.gov.ph. For those who prefer an assisted registration, members may visit their nearest PhilHealth office and present a valid ID. / AML
