A TANOD was finally going home with his wife after she was admitted to the hospital only to find their house in Sitio Pagtambayayong, Barangay Lawaan 3 in Talisay City ransacked.Nelson Canomon Panilag, 59, said they made the discovery when they arrived around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.He said their dressers were open and his wallet containing P9,000 in cash was missing. So were several pieces of his wife’s jewelry worth P316,000, he said.The Panilags immediately reported the burglary to the police.During the initial investigation and follow-up operation conducted by Corporal Noel Timagos, the name of Joseph Sabellano del Socorro, the victims’ 49-year-old neighbor, came up.Police immediately looked for del Socorro and found him that same night around 10:40 p.m.After arresting him, they recovered a receipt for a ring that the suspect pawned earlier in the day.The ring belonged to Panilag’s wife.
