PRO 7 chief turns over gadgets to top performing police offices

POLICE Regional Office (PRO)-Central Visayas Director Brigadier General Roderick Augustus Alba turned over laptops and computers that were mentioned in the Christmas wish lists of three police offices in the cities of Cebu, Lapu-lapu and Mandaue.

These gadgets are designed to strengthen police operations especially during Christmas when crimes are expected to increase.

Alba had earlier promised to give rewards to police personnel who have shown significant achievements in the fight against illegal drugs and other criminal activities in 92-day challenge.

Under the challenge, all police chiefs in the Central Visayas must submit a performance report to cover the 92 days since Alba assumed as PRO 7 director on October 13, 2022.

Those with high achievements will be honored, while those with poor results in their operations or who did not pass the given standard of accomplishment will be re-evaluated by the PRO 7 placement board.

“As your regional director of Police Regional Office 7, I always have great faith in your capacity as police officers, for your hard work, for gallantry taking the honor of our sworn oath to serve and protect and the desire to contribute to better PNP organization and be the best Bisayang Dako Cops of PRO 7. It was and we still be my standing order that those with high achievements will be honored, while those with poor results will be re-evaluated, hence our 92-day challenge program,” Alba said.

Because of this, Alba asked for a Christmas wish list from the police offices that got a high score in their campaign against crime.

“As a token of gratitude to your exemplary performance, hard work and dedication your Christmas wish list will be granted,” added Alba.

Five police stations in Cebu City and another three in Mandaue and two in Lapu-Lapu have received laptops and computer sets.

Alba will also give gadgets to Carcar City Police Station.

Alba added that the Philippine National Police recognizes the role of technology in crime prevention.

Alba also wants to provide new cars to each unit through the help of local chief executives. (AYB, TPT)
